SUMMARY
Counter Sales has maximum customer exposure and positively represents Walker Auto & Truck to the public, providing the best service in the industry to increase sales and profitability. This position must foster a culture of professionalism and parts expertise, establishing a mutually beneficial partnership with our customers. Counter Sales works within the store team to ensure inventory accuracy, network with other stores to obtain needed parts, schedule deliveries and address class and core returns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Deliver The Ideal Customer Experience:
Build relationships with customers
Positively greet all customers when they enter or call our store
Engage customers to determine their needs, serving as the owner of the transaction
Listen, take notes, and use open-ended questions to identify the products and/or services that will meet the customers needs
Present customer solutions using features and benefits and good, better, bestselling techniques
Complete the sale and ensure the accuracy of the transaction and the tendering of payment
Participate and promote all sales programs
Proficiently use the TAMS computer system, cataloging, Parts PRO SEII, Google, and outside vendors for parts
Maintain strong product knowledge of auto parts, warranties, promotions, and sales programs
Utilize supply chain resources and vendor relationships to maximize sales and service to customers
Communicate realistic estimated delivery times to customers for all product
Support Store Success:
Actively participates and contributes to team meetings
Understand store financial objectives and quotas and work towards the achievement of these targets
Adhere to all safety requirements
Assist with all assigned store responsibilities (cores and defects, inventory, retail upkeep, and cleaning)
Utilize delivery dispatch to increase efficiency in every delivery
Keep up with current market trends, sales, parts, and automotive systems
Perform any other duties deemed necessary by store manager
Utilize inventory control procedures. Participate in inventory management
Continuously Develop KNOW HOW:
Participate in NAPA and Walker sales programs
Stay up to date on all services, products, and parts available through Walker Auto & Truck
Actively participate in-store training opportunities, including but not limited to NAPATraining.com, TAMS knowledge, cataloging, Paycom, Parts PRO and outside vendors

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience in a customer-facing position
Industry experience preferred
Knowledgeable in current technology including tablets, computers, Microsoft Office
License/Certification:
Valid NC Drivers License

Lift a maximum of 50 pounds from the floor to truck bed height (3-4 ft) and bend/lift 30 pounds from the floor to overhead
Bend and twist 20-30 times daily while carrying a load of 20 pounds
