Pay Range: ($24.70-$30.88/Hourly compensation) This position is on-call. Basic Job Function: To assist the bartender in the cleanliness, stocking and replenishing of the bar; prepares and sets up bar for opening, prepares garnishes for drinks and washes glasses and utensils, maintains proper stock of bar items. To assist the Bartender by providing supportive needs to ensure the proper, professional operation of the bar.
Essential Functions:
Retrieves orders from storeroom. Visually checks stock received against written requisition with storeroom personnel to ensure order is accurate. Upon delivery to the bar, re-checks items with bartender for completeness. Fills request for liquor issue.
Cuts, slices and peels perishable garnishes and fruits, mixes and pours juices in sufficient amounts according to projected business. Stores back-up supplies needed refrigeration in prescribed containers for later use.
Maintains cleanliness of bar area, beer lockers, refrigeration and storage areas to comply with health code standards. Washes, racks and stores glasses.
Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with established hotel recipes and procedures.
Checks and assists bartender in maintaining adequate amounts of supplies i.e. stir sticks, napkins, matches, etc. for both the immediate bar and extended service area. Transports taps, replaces and performs routine maintenance requirements on heavy beer kegs and soda tanks.
Scoops ice from ice bins, transports to service areas and replenishes ice containers for usage.
Boxes and saves empty liquor bottles as they accumulate for later returns and requisitions.
Receive cash from guests, make any change needed, verify validity of charges, record charges and ensure vouchers are properly executed in order to maintain a balanced cash bank.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested e.g. special guest requests.
Must adhere to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverage to minors and intoxicated guests to ensure all laws are being followed.
Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Security Department.
Provide instruction and/or guidance for guest and employee safety in fire or other emergency situations.
