CLINICAL COUNSELOR-PSYCH RESEARCH

This position will provide administrative support, counseling, and education services to study participants in a number of trials of substance use disorders.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- To provide counseling and education services to study participants in a psilocybin microdosing trial.
- To serve as primary therapeutic support during dosing sessions with psilocybin, 5-Me O-DMT, and similar compounds
- To conduct preparation and integration sessions with participants according to study protocols.
- To perform tasks related to study maintenance including, but not limited to, recruitment, scheduling and data collection.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics
- Specialized skills in performing psychotherapy, including but not limited to supportive psychotherapy (establishing therapeutic alliance and rapport, communicating empathy) and cognitive-behavioral therapy for substance use disorders.
- Experience in clinical trials of psychotropic compounds.
Hourly Range: $24.05- $39.10
Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in a related field
- And two (2) years of related experience required.
- Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
Currently licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (APC) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling (ABEC) OR currently licensed as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) by the Alabama Board of Examiners in Marriage and Family Therapy OR currently licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners required.
