The Claims Consultant is responsible for providing loss reporting and claim advocacy services to our commercial customers. Claims Consultants strengthen relationships with our customers through new loss submission, facilitating communication, monitoring open claims, and advocating during the claims process. Claims Consultants must have a strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages. How You Will Contribute
Develop and maintain relationships with customers and insurance carriers
Report losses to appropriate carriers
Provide clarity on coverage matters to producers and customers
Communicate with all parties regarding the handling of the claim
Monitor open claims
Advocate for the customer during the claims process
Resolve problems that arise
Recover denied claims from first- and third-party carriers
Build relationships with teammates across all levels of Brown & Brown
Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
Pursue industry credentials and continuing education to maintain up-to-date skills and licensing requirements
Conduct business with the highest level of confidentiality
Other duties or special projects may be assigned
Skills & Experience to Be Successful
Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from three-year or technical school
Strong knowledge and understanding of property & casualty coverages and claim practices
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills
Outstanding customer service record
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Office365, Word, and Excel
Insurance software experience
Exceptional telephone demeanor
