We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Claims and Carrier Compliance Specialist to join our team at Fusion Transport, LCC. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance in all carrier-related claims and logistics operations. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure that all claims processes adhere to industry regulations, contractual obligations, and company policies. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in logistics, claims management, and regulatory compliance, who thrives in a fast-paced, solutions-driven environment. Position Summary: The Claims and Carrier Compliance Specialist will support the team in managing the resolution of claims and ensuring the company’s logistics operations comply with all relevant regulations, policies, and customer requirements. This role is focused on handling day-to-day claims processes, monitoring compliance activities, and assisting with reporting and documentation in the logistics and transportation sectors. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities: Claims Management Support:
Assist in investigating claims related to damage, loss, delays, and other service failures.
Collect and analyze documentation from internal teams (warehouse, transportation, customer service) to support claims resolution.
Maintain and update claim files, tracking progress from initial report through final resolution.
Communicate with customers, vendors, and insurance providers to facilitate claims settlement.
Assist with claims research, including determining root causes, identifying trends, and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure that claims are handled in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures and customer agreements.
Compliance Monitoring and Support:
Assist in ensuring logistics operations meet regulatory requirements, including transportation, warehouse safety, and environmental compliance.
Monitor compliance with internal policies, client contracts, and industry regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, import/export laws).
Help prepare documentation and support internal audits and external regulatory inspections.
Assist in managing records for compliance and safety inspections, ensuring all required documentation is complete and up to date.
Provide administrative support for compliance training and internal awareness programs for employees.
Data Entry and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of all claims and compliance-related activities, ensuring proper documentation is recorded.
Help prepare regular claims reports, identifying key trends and providing insights for management.
Support the development of claims and compliance dashboards to track performance and issue resolution metrics.
Assist in compiling data for regulatory reports and audits as needed.
Customer and Vendor Interaction:
Act as a point of contact for clients and vendors regarding the status of claims, ensuring clear and professional communication.
Support the coordination of claims with vendors, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Help to review client agreements and contracts for alignment with service level expectations and compliance requirements.
Risk and Issue Identification:
Assist in identifying potential risks in the claims process and compliance activities.
Collaborate with team members to recommend improvements in processes to mitigate risks and reduce the frequency of claims.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience in claims management, compliance, or logistics, ideally within the 3PL transportation or supply chain sectors.
Strong understanding of logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management.
Knowledge of industry regulations such as DOT, OSHA, and trade compliance requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point); experience with claims management software a plus.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) a plus.
