Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Director to lead our early childhood education program at Little Scholars. An ideal candidate is a self-motivated, reliable, organized, and strong leader who can coach and mentor teachers to create a safe, fun, and educational learning environment for children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years of age. Must have experience working in a day care center. Prior experience as a day care center director is required! Candidate must also have a working knowledge of NYS OCFS Day Care Center Regulations.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that meet the needs of children and families.
Supervise and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance on curriculum development and classroom management.
Conducting tours of the facility and strategizing to boost child enrollment.
Ensuring the facility is kept clean and organized.
Ensuring the center is up to date with all required inspections. ·Recruiting, training, and maintaining quality teachers to serve as educators and role models for the children in our care.
Ensuring the compliance of NYS Day Care Regulations and educating all staff on NYS Day Care Regulations
Collaborate with parents, staff, and community organizations to promote family engagement and support.
Communicating effectively with parents on a daily basis and available to handle parent concerns in a respectful and confidential manner
Manage administrative tasks including budgeting, scheduling, and record keeping.
Conduct regular assessments of children's progress and program effectiveness.
Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills in early childhood education.
Education · Bachelor's (Required) Experience · Child Day Care Program Administration: 2 years (Required) · Child Care: 2 years (Required)
Experience working with students in an educational setting is essential.
Proven background in educational administration with strong leadership skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
Ability to create a positive learning environment that fosters growth and development for all children.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks.
