Car Chief

Jordan Anderson Racing Bommarito Autosport, a NASCAR motorsports operation is seeking a qualified, highly motivated car chief. The Car Chief is responsible for the car set-up in the shop and adjustments at the track. Oversees the final preparation and race car quality control at the shop. Oversees the NASCAR inspection process and manages the road crew.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Observes work of mechanics, fabricators and engine tuners, as well as NASCAR measurement tools and other indicators, to ensure all functions conform to NASCAR standards.
Notes issues and technical improvements occurring during the event weekend and communicates improvements and recommendations to area team members.
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
Read and analyze charts, schedules, and other records and reports, in order to determine race events and requirements and to evaluate needed adjustments recommended by the Driver and Crew Chief.
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
Responsible for enforcing safety regulations in the shop and at the track.
Ability to run and manage adjustments on the Mittler Pull-Down Rig.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Experience: 4 plus years of experience
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
Certifications &Licenses:
Other Requirements: Ability to communicate effectively at varying levels. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed. Must be able to travel extensively. Ability to problem solve. Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for personal actions. Ability to pay attention to minute details. The position requires a thorough knowledge and understanding of race car components. Must possess excellent mechanical capabilities. Ability to lead and manage varying levels of individuals in the team shop. Must own personal tools.
