Summary: Assemble pre-machined components/parts and “assemble” the units into fixtures or displays
Requirements
Requirements:
Knowledge of how to operate and adjust assembly equipment, including: table saw, chop saw, jointer, hand router, splinter, power screwdrivers, power screw dado machine, and miscellaneous hand tools
Experience in woodworking and use of adhesives
Familiar with the types and use of fasteners
Assemble units squarely and within dimensional tolerances
Basic sanding knowledge of wood and solid surface
Able to read blueprints for dimensions, assembly, and fixture details
Demonstrate ability to use detailed measuring device equipment
Knowledge of wood species and characteristics
Exhibit knowledge of touch-up processes, such as filler sticks, putty sticks, etc.
Understand how to prep for finishing
Knowledge of metal break and sheer
Able to pull information from work packet, such as: budget, material, and hardware requirements
Maintain the highest quality with all aspects of the job
Mark fixtures with the correct information
Knowledge of inlay material for detailed process
Identify joinery types, when to use, and the difference between a field joint versus a shop joint
Complete dry fitting of field joints and document appropriately
Understand fixture construction process
Familiar with door/drawer mounting and various types of hardware applications
