Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is the manufacturing operation and production of high quality drug substance and parenteral biologics products for commercial distribution and experimental/clinical runs. The Biologics Production Superintendent position is responsible of supervising a team of non-exempt biologics operators performing manufacturing activities in different areas and/or shifts within the Abb Vie Biotechnology Ltd. (ABL) manufacturing organization. These operations are to be performed according to applicable SOPs, production control records, quality standards and established production schedule. The position ensures that manufacturing objectives are achieved and maintenance activities are conducted according to the schedule. Furthermore, the Biologics Production Superintendent ensures that the necessary resources are allocated per operation to maintain high manufacturing efficiency, provides support to continuous improvement programs, and anticipate and issue action plan Responsibilities
Responsible to plan and control the manufacturing operation to meet Plant throughput, maintaining cost and manpower utilization per established expectations.
Supervision and training of the non-exempt personnel assigned. Responsible of completing goals setting, performance evaluation, and development plans of direct reports.
Assure compliance with applicable Plant, Division, Corporate and Government Regulatory Agencies.
Anticipate and correct situations that affect the operating and environment.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science, major in Chemistry, Biology and/or Biotechnology.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biologics or Medical Device industry (aseptic manufacturing knowledge/ experience is highly preferred).
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biologics or Medical Device industry (aseptic manufacturing knowledge/ experience is highly preferred).
Previous experience with POMSnet, SAP Delta V and MES preferable.
Computer knowledge (Power Point, Excel and Word)
Solid knowledge of technical report writing.
