Job Title: Relief Operator B Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full Time Direct Supervisor: Shift Supervisor Department: Production Location: New Castle, DE About the Role: The Relief Operator B’s responsibility is to operate and maintain the equipment necessary for the manufacturing of bleach and Chlor-Alkali products manufactured at this facility. This position’s primary purpose will be to fill in for B Operator vacations/vacancies, but when not covering a vacancy will assist plant operations as needed including covering vacancies that may occur during the normal schedule. The hours for this position will be scheduled as needed. When there are no vacancies, the Relief Operator B will alternate 36 hour and 48 hour work weeks. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:
Assist Plant Operator A in the monitoring of equipment and make necessary adjustments to maintain process parameters as specified.
Perform sampling and analysis to maintain process and finished product specifications.
Inspect equipment and area and report deficiencies to the Shift Supervisor.
Assist in the repair and maintenance of equipment when the plant is not running and in an emergency.
Respond to any and all alarms, understand the significance of the alarm, and take the necessary steps to correct and/or report to the Shift Supervisor for corrective action.
Load and unload bleach, caustic, SO2 and acid tankers as required.
Maintain the caustic dilution system to provide the proper strength for bleach requirements.
Check all tank levels and provide daily log.
Check equipment as described on check list and report discrepancies to the Shift Supervisor.
Maintain areas in orderly/clean manner with specific attention to bleach loading area, scale, and tank farms.
Maintain salt storage area and add salt to saturators as required.
Maintain bleach filter operation.
Load waste material into hoppers.
Complete operational logs as required.
Perform process chemical titrations as directed.
Operate and maintain the bleach dilution system.
Assist in the operation of the Salt Recovery System.
Move, place, and unload Chlorine and Caustic Railcars.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to pass a 10 panel controlled substance testing and random testing after that.
Must be able to pass a background investigation check and maintain in good standing order, as per TSA’s TWIC criteria.
Education and Experience:
High school or GED preferred or 1 year experience working in a chemical manufacturing facility preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently climbs stairs and ladders.
Frequently bends, stands, lifts up to 50lbs.
Must be able to work outdoors in different climate conditions.
Able to kneel, squat, crawl occasionally.
Must be able to walk on secure elevated process platforms more than 15-foot heights.
Must have the capability of using Fall Suppression Equipment
Able to operate powered industrial vehicle.
*Medically qualified to participate in the Hazmat Team.
Employee must submit to an annual physical which may include a drug screening.
