Our team of passionate guides ensures that every guest leaves with unforgettable memories of their eco-adventures. **Role Overview:** As an Assistant Manager, you'll support the General Manager, and all of the FAST PACED operations, managing a wide range of tasks to ensure smooth sailing for both our guests and staff. From answering phones and text messages, assisting guests with gear, working on the computer with spreadsheets, scheduling apps, reservations apps, emails, managing inventory in the store and selling items, coordinating transportation, to demanding and constant scheduling changes and managing employee disputes, you'll be at the heart of the action, ensuring that every aspect of our tours runs seamlessly. **Key Responsibilities:** - Greet and assist guests, providing them with information about tours and ensuring they have everything they need for their adventure. - Manage scheduling for a dynamic team of guides, handling daily changes with ease and efficiency. - Handle retail sales, including using a POS system and managing inventory. - Answer phones, take reservations, and provide friendly and knowledgeable customer service. - Assist guests with fitting life jackets and loading kayaks onto floating docks. - Maintain accurate records of hours worked, process payroll reports, and make deposits. - Respond to accidents or injuries by completing and submitting accident reports. - Oversee store management tasks, including setting up displays and reordering inventory. - Provide training to staff on various software programs and procedures as needed. **Qualifications:** - Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. - Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a friendly and welcoming demeanor. - Proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheet, and POS software. - Experience in scheduling and managing a team is a plus. - Comfortable working outdoors in a rustic environment and handling occasional swamp bugs. - Minimum two years management experience required. - Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. - Enthusiasm for outdoor adventures and a passion for sharing that enthusiasm with others. **Benefits:** - Competitive salary with commissions and tips. - Training provided on software and procedures. - A unique and exciting work environment surrounded by natural beauty. - Flexible hours and days off when necessary with flexible vacation time for travel. - Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
