Northshire Bookstore is seeking a full-time Assistant Gift Manager for its flagship Manchester, VT location.

This is a high-energy position with a focus on our curated selection of merchandise including gifts, games, puzzles, housewares, clothing and accessories, and more. Retail experience strongly preferred.

Candidate should be enthusiastic and enjoy engaging with people. Tasks include handselling, shelving, inventory management, and Point of Sale computer systems.

This position requires someone who is detail oriented, possesses good organizational skills and will maintain order and neatness in all merchandise areas on and off the sales floor.

~Responsible for restocking the previous day's sales prior to store opening
~Restocking responsibilities are for Adult and Children's gift, stationery & non-book merchandise
~Keep all merchandise well stocked, neat & organized, checking in on high traffic areas throughout the day
~Maintain organization and order in the backstock areas
~Work closely with the gift buyer
~Be a positive presence on the sales floor when assisting customers
~Assist buyer with displays
~Set up Sidewalk Sale twice a year
~Maintain accurate inventory numbers all year long and assist with physical inventory
~Consistent communication with the buyer is required
~A strong sense of spatial proportion and balance when merchandising product
~Advise buyer on stock levels when necessary
~Take charge of the greeting card department
~Maintain the sale area during certain times of year

Preferred schedule:
Sunday-Thursday 7a -3p
