The Applications Training Specialist will be an integral part of the HIT Team and will work closely with the Manager of Applications, CAT Leadership Team, Human Resources, and SME’s, enterprise wide to develop, schedule, deliver, and optimize the HIT Software Training program, primarily the Electronic Health Record. This position will lead the development of training materials as well as provide new end-user training, training for new clinical applications, version updates and perform duties as assigned related to all aspects of clinical applications technology. This position requires strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. The position requires 75% travel, knowledge of adult learning methodology, advanced presentation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365. This position is also responsible for evaluating training analytics, managing the LMS and identifying training inefficiencies to develop improvements where possible. Essential Functions
Curriculum design to include development of instructional manuals, classroom exercises and learning activities, assessment and microlearning with a blended learning strategy.
Organize instructional programs to be designed, developed, and evaluated.
Assess the learning needs of clinical and operational staff to aide in maintain the integrity of the system through self-directed learning and / or refreshing training for end-users.
Design instructional interventions to reflect the dynamic needs of the organization.
Manage the delivery of formal in-person instructor led training ( ILT) or virtual instructor led training (VILT) or a combination of both enterprise wide.
Create computer-based training modules.
Build and maintain a repository of updated training materials and end-user resources as it pertains to clinical applications.
Develop training for new clinical application features, functionality, workflows, enhancements, and upgrades.
Assess end-user productivity through close cooperation with Operational leadership to assess requirement for enterprise level training and individual users.
Prepare training materials and maintain supplies needed for instruction.
Keep current on MPHC policies and procedures and best practices on Training and Development.
Demonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments.
Required to travel to the clinics if training needs to be completed at these locations, but can stay at home if training can be completed from there.
This position requires consistent, in-person attendance at the employee’s assigned clinic. However, based on the employee’s performance and the specific task the employee is accomplishing, limited remote work may be permissible.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of 3 years in training and experience
2 years in Electronic Health Records training of providers and clinical staff in the EHR or other clinical support functions
Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in project management
Experience in designing and delivering training programs
Knowledge of adult learning theory and assessment development
Experience with facilitated learning, FQHC
LMS management experience and knowledge of e-learning authoring software
