Animal Handler
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to provide excellent service in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist with the handling and care of animals in a professional manner
- Supervise dog play groups
- Perform pet grooming tasks as needed
- Engage in pet enrichment activities
- Spend prolonged periods outdoors with pets
- Perform new dog evaluations
- Perform heavy lifting tasks related to animal care
- Work in a team environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kennel areas
Skills
- Experience as an animal handler is highly desirable
- Knowledge of pet grooming practices is a plus
- Ability to provide pet care services effectively
- Proficient in animal care and handling techniques
- Capable of restraining animals safely and compassionately
- Skilled in dog handling and behavior management
- Comfortable with heavy lifting requirements in an animal care setting
- Strong customer service orientation
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in kennel environments
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
