MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver new and rebuilt parts and components to customer property on schedule.
Provide prompt service for emergency equipment breakdown.
Persuade mine personnel turn to Joy products and services.
Perform miscellaneous warehouse functions as necessary.
Be able to execute and understand very basic SAP applications used by Joy Customer Service Personnel. NATURE OF POSITION:
The company maintains a fleet of trucks throughout the Midwest Americas at Warehouse facilities for the transfer of materials between Joy facilities and mine sites. Customer Service Drivers follow a daily schedule of mine site visits to deliver Joy parts and components and also to pick up components to be repaired at the Centers of Excellence. The Customer Service Driver also responds to customer emergency orders on an as needed basis. A key responsibility involves the development of positive relations with mine personnel. On the strength of those positive relations, company reputation, and service convenience the Customer Service Driver is expected to be alert to sales opportunities and to promote the use of Joy products and services.
RELATIONSHIPS:
The position has internal contact with other employees of the Midwest Americas sales group, supply chain, and manufacturing personnel for purposes of determining parts inventory, sales goals and work in process status. External contacts include customer maintenance, purchasing and warehouse personnel. Approximately 75% travel is involved. There is a minimum of direct supervision.
PREDOMINANT TASKS:
Makes contact with customer representatives according to route schedules; may include treating customer to lunch, delivering snacks or promotional items. Provide assistance to customer in finding a part number that is not in parts book, referencing detailed drawings if necessary.
Is alert to opportunities to pick up repair work and contacts mine personnel to acquire the work. To reduce ARG days, an aggressive approach is necessary to ensure units are picked up in a timely manner.
Promotes Joy products and services.
Develops new customer accounts for equipment, parts and repair services.
Advises Joy management of customer equipment needs and complaints, including invoicing problems.
Is sensitive to threats and opportunities to Joy and informs Joy management.
Visually inspects repair and component exchange items prior to delivery to assure compliance to customer orders. Ensures that all orders (CEP and warehouse) are filled accurately and properly before loading.
Responds to customer emergency breakdown needs on an as needed basis.
Operates vehicles safely and provides for necessary maintenance. Is required to adhere to all laws and regulations prescribed by Joy and government organizations.
Investigates warranty claims and is responsible for ensuring all pertinent information is supplied and communicate between the customer and Joy personnel on failed units.
Ensures that all components brought in have job numbers painted on them and warranty identification marked if applicable.
Performs other miscellaneous warehouse and office duties as necessary.
