JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY
The Graduation Coordinator will support and monitor academic and career pathway opportunities in partnership with schools in the assigned Learning Community. Supports school personnel in meeting the expectations for the implementations of Individualized Career and Academic Plans (ICAPs). The Graduation Coordinator will support the school with “On-track and On-time” graduation rates. Analyzes data in order to prioritize support for students in collaboration with school counselors. The Graduation Coordinator will support Concurrent Enrollment, CTE, and regular programming at the high school level.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Level Details
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field from an accredited college or university
Master's degree in Reading, Literacy, or a related field (preferred)
License / Certification Required
A valid Colorado driver's license is required.
A Colorado Secondary Teacher’s License preferred.
Work Experience Required
Three years of public/private school experience with knowledge about post-secondary and workforce readiness.
Other Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to relate to a diverse student population.
Excellent communication skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Effective interpersonal skills, including collaboration, teamwork and creative problem solving
Knowledge of the Adams 14 strategic plan as it relates to pathways.

Ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
Ability to apply technical skills
Ability to apply understanding about learning theory with regard to children and adults.
Ability to demonstrate knowledge and good judgment in matters of district policy and procedures.
Oral and written fluency in Spanish preferred.
FUNDING
This position may be grant-funded and may be dependent on the successful renewal of grants each year. Employment in this role may be subject to the availability of grant funding. The district will make every effort to provide advance notice if funding is not realized.
EVALUATION
Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provision of Adams County School District Board Policy, GCOA-Evaluation of Instructional Staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Major Responsibilities
- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, and counselors to ensure the implementation of district-wide and school-based systems that match students with post-secondary planning opportunities to effectively support them toward graduation and college and career readiness.
- Promote college and career success by arranging and monitoring contextual learning opportunities, including site visits, field experience, job shadowing, mentorships, apprenticeships, and internships for all students.
- Assist in developing and implementing strategies for marketing, recruiting, and retention, with emphasis on providing broad access for all students.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and community members in order to promote dedication to their student’s achievement and the understanding that college and career goals are attainable.
- Assist counselors in preparing all students and parents for pathway choices; and support students during pathway application, enrollment, and registration processes, with particular attention to course selection and Individual Career & Academic Plans.
- Sustain regular communication with the Principal or his/her designee, Counselors, Teachers, and Parents/Guardians about students' post-secondary workforce readiness and progress and needs, including ongoing development of Individual Career & Academic Plans (ICAPs).
- Plan, coordinate, and/or lead pathway events, such as presentations of learning, workshops for all students and parents, college tours, and business and industry visits. Must be willing to work on some evenings and weekends.
- Participate in professional learning associated with academic and career pathways, including opportunities and professional conferences.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a usual office or school environment. The Employee may be required to work from a remote location in the event of a district shut-down or other event.
Mental Functions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate, compare, analyze, coordinate, instruct, evaluate, and use interpersonal skills. Occasionally required to compile, copy, compute and negotiate.
