Position Description
This position will be responsible for teaching assigned courses and involves teaching laboratory, and clinical components, and could involve teaching theory components within Continuing Education or Curriculum Education Divisions.
Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time temporary faculty to teach Nurse Aide classes. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis.
Responsibilities and Duties (*Essential Functions)

- Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner, maintaining the course schedule
- Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
- Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
- Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
- Grades and returns student work in a timely manner
- Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
Use classroom materials that support the goals of the course
Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
Communicates well with staff and keeps department head informed of any concerns
Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
Supports the department, division and college goals, providing requested data in a timely manner
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to varying learning styles of students
Be innovative, creative, motivated
Ability to exhibit positive interpersonal skills and work well with others
Able to maintain records accurately and be able to meet deadlines consistently
Good organizational skills
Knowledge of and familiar with technology and software including, computers and web-based resources such as Moodle
Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential
Requirements:
Nursing Diploma from a three-year program or Associates degree in Nursing

A current unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina
Three years' experience as a Registered Nurse
Two years’ experience supervising Nurse Aides
Must be able to take students to hospitals and nursing homes for clinical
Proof of clinical site documentation (including full COVI-19 vaccination for clinical agencies affiliated with the College that choose to mandate full vaccination for students and clinical instructors)
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
Experience supervising Nurse Aides
Patient care experience
Teaching experience
