WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Academic Coach will serve as a member of our leadership team and a critical lever in improving student achievement. The Academic Coach will work one-on-one and in small groups with teachers, providing guidance, training, and resources as needed. The Academic Coach will also be responsible for building teacher capacity, mentoring new/struggling teachers, modeling lessons, and supporting teacher success in utilizing data to drive instruction. The Instructional Coach is considered a vital part of our leadership team; reporting directly to campus leadership. With success in this position, including positive outcomes for our scholars and a demonstrated understanding of our pedagogy, the IC will be uniquely positioned for additional growth opportunities in our network.

- Master’s degree preferred
- At least 5 years of successful teaching experience
- Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction; documentation will be requested as a part of the interview process
- Experience in adult learning theory
- Knowledge and expertise in reading and math curriculum
- Demonstrate organizational and technology skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Able to drive the mission and vision of PLA
- An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
