JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to manage the development and implementation of athletic programs. Job duties consist of varied management and administrative duties. Successful performance in this position contributes to the efficient and effective delivery of recreation programs and services to area residents and visitors. FLSA status is Non-Exempt.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES (50%)
Communicates with the public; prepares promotional and marketing plans and materials.
Maintains playing fields and equipment.
Coordinates officials for games and tournaments.
Schedules events, games, tournaments, meetings, etc.
Assists with scheduling travel tournaments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (20%)
Manages the work of staff working at athletic events.
Assists in orienting, training, assigning, directing, supervising, and evaluating department personnel; participates in the hiring process of department personnel.
Monitors work to ensure efficiency and effectiveness and compliance with policies and procedures.
PURCHASING RESPONSIBILITIES (10%)
Organizes purchasing for athletics programs and facilities.
Monitors equipment inventory; identifies equipment for repair, maintenance, or replacement.
Orders food and drinks to stock the concession stands.
SPLASH PAD RESPONSIBILITIES (10%)
Orders chemicals and equipment.
Paints and cleans the surface.
Maintain and repairs equipment.
Supervises staff performing weekly cleaning.
OTHER RELATED DUTIES (10%)
Assists other departments.
Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors' Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
Two (2) years' experience in parks and recreation systems.
Two (2) years' of supervisory experience.
CPR and First Aid Certification required.
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.

Job duties may require the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.
Job duties require the ability to deal with and relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions.
Job duties require the ability to talk, express, or exchange ideas by means of spoken words and/or hear and perceive the nature of sounds by ear.
Job candidates must be able to adapt to and perform under moderate stress.
Job duties require regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION:
Must provide proof of your legal right to work in the United States.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Willing to work overtime, nights, and weekends.
Willing to cooperate with the workload of the department.
Willing to attend continuing education courses.
Willing to comply with City of Prattville rules and regulations.
Must submit to drug screenings for this safety sensitive position.
