Serve your community through a year of service with Kentucky College Coaches Kentucky College Coaches is an Ameri Corps program serving Kentucky high school students since 2010! Our program model is helping students increase their ACT scores, identify career goals, find scholarship money, and have a solid plan to guide them after high school. The evaluation of the program shows that students who spend time with a Kentucky College Coach go to college at a rate 16% higher than students who don’t have a coach. This program works - participating students are more prepared for college and careers! Description of position: As a Kentucky College Coaches Ameri Corps member, you will mentor students from low-income and underserved backgrounds. You will help students (grades 9-12) navigate the milestones they face in high school as they move toward graduation and decide what to do next. You will have a group of students whom you will meet with individuals and in small groups throughout the year, providing coaching geared to the needs of individual students. You will also help with the whole school’s efforts to help all students become college and work-ready. Your one-year commitment will change lives! Dates: August 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025 Hours: (37.5 hrs/wk) one-year commitment (up to 4 years) Pay: $1,810 per month in living allowance, less FICA and other applicable taxes Benefits: Assistance applying for Healthcare and childcare benefits, federal student loan forbearance eligibility, professional development, and End-of-service Education Award (up to $5,000).
