As the Yard Marshall, you will be responsible for directing the movement of all traffic within the estate's yard, ensuring the safe and efficient flow of vehicles.

Job Description

You will provide clear, accurate, and safe directions to vehicle operators during entry, exit, and movement within the yard. You will also ensure that on-site traffic systems are well-organised and contribute to the planning and recommendation of these systems alongside other key stakeholders.

Effective and professional communication with all drivers and yard users is key to providing assistance, support, and guidance for driving, parking, and working safely within the yard.

This role is ideal for someone who values safety and thrives in a role that requires strong communication and organisational skills.

You will play a key role in maintaining the smooth and secure operation of the estate's yard, with the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and collaborate with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Direct movement of all traffic within the estates yard to ensure safety

Provide clear, safe directions to vehicle operators during entry, exit, and movement within the yard

Ensure on-site traffic systems are laid out and collaborate on recommendations for improvement

Communicate effectively with drivers and yard users, offering assistance and clear instructions

Use correct signalling techniques in line with Health & Safety regulations (Safety Signs and Signals 1996)

Manage risks like blind spots to ensure safe operations

Control vehicle flow to prevent excessive queuing, especially during peak times

Minimise risks to personnel and equipment within the yard

Use and report faults in safety equipment such as barriers, cones, and warning signs
