In line with the Government’s Shared Services Strategy, the Matrix Programme is intending to deliver modern, cost-effective and scalable shared business services to nine departments (the Policy Cluster), with UKSBS as the provider, flexibly meeting changing Government requirements, and driving innovation to optimise efficiencies and enhance user experience. The Programme will also implement a new modern Saa S ERP platform, from which UKSBS can deliver these services, driving harmonisation and significant business change across the Departments. This is a large, complex multi-year programme.
We innovate in on-premises, Cloud and Saa S systems, on upgrades to legacy tech stacks, and in providing subject matter expertise into new Departmental Programmes collaborating with technical and project teams, reviewing automated test results, writing new test cases, troubleshooting issues, and improving test frameworks.
The role of the Test Team Lead will be to lead the testing elements of Changes and Programmes for UKSBS systems, this is with a focus on Oracle Fusion and Workday. There will be an element of Line Management to the role, and you are expected to always demonstrate UKSBS Values and Behaviours when engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive testing strategy, ensuring coverage for functional, system integration, and user acceptance testing aligned with the system’s business requirement.
• Lead and mentor the testing team, managing resources, setting priorities, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality testing results
• Work closely with technical teams, business analysts, and project managers to ensure test plans align with business needs and system configurations
• Oversee defect tracking and resolution, while providing regular updates and metrics on testing progress, defect status, and risk assessments to stakeholders.

To be considered for the role, you will need the following:

• In-depth working knowledge of Workday and/or Oracle Fusion including understanding of the ERP system’s modules (e.g., HCM, Finance) and workflows
• Expertise in designing, managing, and executing test plans, cases, and scripts tailored to Oracle Fusion or Workday
• Strong leadership skills to guide and coordinate the testing team
• Excellent relationship management and stakeholder
• Report writing skills
• ISTQB: Minimum Foundation Level
• Proficiency with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Oracle ATS, or Workday-specific tools which can streamline testing processes and increase efficiency.
