The Vanilla Valley is looking to recruit a Part time Retail Assistant to become a part of an exciting and expanding company.
The role is based in our retail unit in Nantgarw, Cardiff which sells specialist cake decorating equipment locally and worldwide via online selling channels.
Main responsibilities will be within the Retail shop however the successful applicant will be expected to pack orders within our packing & dispatch department as well.
Main Duties
· Processing deliveries which come into the shop from suppliers
· Be responsible for maintaining stock levels of all products in the retail environment
· Pick and Pack Click & Collect orders
· Operate the till point to successfully complete customer transactions
· Offer an excellent level of customer service to maximise the shopping experience
· Help generate in-store displays and general product presentation
· Maintain and clean the working environment for efficient operation
Packing & Dispatch Responsibilities:
· Picking customer orders via a scanner
· Accurately packing customer orders
· Working to targets
· Working within the team to hit dispatch deadlines
Skills:
· Punctuality and Reliability is essential
· An enthusiastic, positive and friendly manner
· Excellent customer service skills
· Previous shop experience and processing deliveries is essential
· Certain areas of this role will be physical, and candidates must be able to manually move stock and materials around the premises
· An interest in cake making/sugarcraft industry would be an advantage but not essential.
Salary and Working Hours:
· Hourly Rate will be National Minimum Living Wage (depending on age)
· Contract - Minimum 16 hours per week (however at busy times more hours will be required)
· Working hours will include weekdays and regular Saturdays, will need flexibility to extend working hours in the week when required to cover annual leave or sickness
· Candidates will need to have flexibility to work Monday – Saturday as required
