Public Health Volunteer Co-ordinator
Are you passionate about reducing health inequalities and empowering local communities? We are looking for a dynamic and driven Volunteer Coordinator for our Health and Wellbeing Champions Programme. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating community volunteers to promote key health messages and support residents in improving their wellbeing. You will work closely with local partners and public health staff to ensure the success of this new initiative.
As Volunteer Coordinator, you will work with volunteers from target communities most at risk of poor health outcomes, supporting them to be influential health connectors. Through ongoing training, regular communication, and peer-to-peer health promotion, you will create and sustain a network of empowered residents driving meaningful change in their communities. If you are excited to make a difference and work at the heart of a local public health initiative, this is the role for you!
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all sections of the community, including those with low literacy and limited English. The ability to speak community languages (particularly Sylheti/Bengali) is desirable. We welcome applications from all candidates who meet the person specification. We also welcome applicants interested in flexible working arrangements and applicants who live in the borough.
