Male Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a man with a Motor Neurone Disease and a Physical Disability living in the Rutherglen area.
You would be required to provide care and assistance within their home, including attending to personal care and participation in social activities. Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:
· Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
· Assisting with medication
· Preparing meals and healthy snacks
· Moving and assisting - pushing manual wheelchair and uses a Sara Stedy
· Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living
Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.
Favourite activities are music, band management, event organising, social media, sensory experiences and socialising.
Pets in the household – you must be comfortable working with a dog in the home.
Experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.
Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility)
Recruiting for permanent full time and part time staff.
Days and times:
Part time and full time positions available for up to 40 hours per week. Hours available covering 7 days per week – including availability for overnights – to be discussed at interview.
