Role Overview
The candidate will work as part of the Minor Works Team taking on all new projects throughout Northern Ireland. They will be responsible for undertaking various jobs, working as part of a building work team and providing excellent services to our high-profile customers. Please be advised that H&J Martin may seek security clearances for this position, which will be used in the decision-making process.
Key Duties:
The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

Work on Minor Works projects carrying out general building and ground works duties such as, demolition works, brick/ block laying, ground works (drainage pipe laying, trenching/ducting for services), cutting openings, in-situ concrete pouring, patch plastering.
Utilise and update the company Mobile Management Information Systems for all work.
To beproactive in managing and undertaking work and be client focussed in the delivery of the work.
Representing the company in a competent and professional manner.
Responsible for implementation of company Health & Safety Policy, Rules and Quality Assurance procedures.
Proactive approach to delivering projects in an efficient and effective manner.
High standard of housekeeping, material handling and safety at all times.
Other ad-hoc duties as requested by the Supervisor.

What you'll bring
As a General Builder your main skills and experience will include:
Essential

Able to demonstrate relevant building works qualifications, training or equivalent experience.
Significant relevant experience carrying out general building works duties detailed in Key Duties above.
A good attention to detail
Significant relevant experience of using power hand tools to carry out functions of the role
Experience working as part of a building team to complete projects.
Have excellent knowledge of safe and effective working
Have great communication skills
Be able to work on your own initiative with a flexible and problem-solving approach
Able to read and understand drawings.

Desirable

Hold a relevant valid CSR Card
Possess a valid, clean driving license
Plant and access equipment cards e.g. Excavator license, Forklift/Telehandler license, PASMA, IPAF Card.
