An opportunity has risen to join The Flood and Coastal Risk Management Team to support the delivery of Cardiff Council’s statutory duties as the Local Lead Flood Authority.

About the job
The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of the Councils Flood Risk Management Strategy and all other associated duties relating to the Flood & Water Management Act 2010, The Flood Risk Regulations 2009 and The Land Drainage Act 1991.
Duties include the maintenance and development of the Council’s Flood Risk database, project management of flood risk management schemes and investigation of flood incidents.
This role will involve a high level of interaction with stakeholders, including; Council Members, public, contractors, external organisations and other Council departments. The post holder may be required to work outside normal hours from time to time, including evenings and weekends.

What We Are Looking For From You
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who has the ability to take the responsibility for the management of challenging and unique projects and improve flood risk throughout the city
Qualified to a degree level in a relevant discipline, or similar qualification in civil engineering, or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional work experience in this discipline.
Comply with all required legislative and Health and Safety obligations and Council policies and procedures
Participate, on an ‘out of hours’ stand-by rota.
