About the role
We are currently recruiting Compliance Auditor, with experience in food manufacturing, to join the Team at our Coleraine site on a 12-month FTC.

Kerry Coleraine, which sits on the banks of the river Bann has a long history of producing high quality dairy products since the 1940s, today the site supplies a range of cheese slices to both the food service industry and to all major UK and Ireland supermarkets. Along with these traditional business avenues there is also a child’s yogurt plant and a newly commissioned appetiser plant which is a part of the continued innovation and development which Kerry is famous for.

Within this role, you will be able to identify food safety and quality risks, areas for improvement and help ensure that the organisation complies with all relevant food safety and quality regulations. Day to day you will carry out routine compliance tasks to ensure our products consistently meet our internal standards and those required of our customers.

This role is Monday to Friday, with 1 Sunday per month to carry out a hygiene audit.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing guidance and on-going support to ensure compliance with Quality / Regulatory Policies, Food Safety Programs (HACCP), Customer Requirements and product specifications.
  • Performing routine factory based QSHE audits, inspections and tasks to verify compliance against defined standards, codes of practice and product specifications. Audit and inspection examples include: Glass and Hard Plastics Audits, Internal Audits, Hygiene Audits, CCP audits, Fabrication & GMP Audits and HACCP Verification Checks.
  • Carry out Gap Analysis to customer and company specific requirements.
  • Routinely carry out traceability exercises and document retrieval.
  • Support and maintenance of the Quality Management System including but not limited to updating forms, visual standards, standard operating procedures.
  • Continuously improve standards set and performance against those standards by leading and participating in Continuous Improvement Process with a particular focus on Quality & Food Safety.
  • Deliver training, support and guidance to the cross functional teams ensuring standards are fully understood e.g. Quality Briefings / Meetings, GMP & CCP training, Food Safety Awareness, CAPA.
  • Provide support to cross functional teams through confirming and verifying compliance to standards e.g. hand back following engineering work, exceptional situations, risk assessments.
  • Perform verification checks on factory measuring and testing equipment.
  • Complete product assessments and taste panels as and when necessary.
  • Investigate Customer Complaints, Hold Orders and non conforming products to identify root cause.
  • Provide cover for Group Lead absence.
What you can bring to the role
  • Diploma or Higher in a Food Science related subject
  • You will be a fluent communicator, in both written and spoken English.
  • Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office tools.
  • Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.
  • The ability to identify and actively plan improvements and adapt in a changing environment.
  • The ability to word both independently and in a team
  • Experience in a Manufacturing environment in a similar role is desirable but not a must-have.
  • Knowledge of the BRC Global Food Standard and H&S Policies and Procedures would also be a benefit.
