Cardiff Half Marathon Cheer Point Volunteers - Sunday 6th October 2024
We're on the lookout for passionate volunteers to join us at Cardiff Half Marathon on Sunday 6th October. You will be supporting Michael Beynon at the start of his incredible 100km challenge. As a volunteer on the day you’ll be part of an amazing atmosphere and will support Mencap to make change through raising funds or engaging with your local community. Our cheer point is located opposite the Senedd and pierhead building around mile 6 of the route. We are aiming to position ourselves near the black railings with our backs to the water as the runners run past us. You'll be part of a diverse and inclusive team alongside volunteers with and without a learning disability. You will represent Mencap and help to promote our work and raise awareness for people with a learning disability at this iconic event in Wales. As a Mencap Volunteer you will be:

Willing to volunteer within guidelines and to take direction where necessary
Accepting of others who might be different to yourself
As a Mencap volunteer you will:
Make new friends
Receive agreed out of pocket expenses in line with our policy e.g. travel
Receive a full volunteer briefing and training on the day
Volunteer alongside our experienced
Have a chance to give back your local community
