Ulster Sports Club is looking for a brewer to join the team at Out of Office!
Out of Office Brewing is a micro-brewery and taproom located above the Ulster Sports Club in Belfast. Founded in 2022, we have immersed ourselves in the local craft scene and brewed a range of beers stocked in bars and restaurants across NI. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced brewer to lead the brewery and continue our journey through innovation, high standards and a passion for craft beer.

Main duties

• Brewing production of our full range of core, specials and seasonal beers
• Ordering raw materials including recipe ingredients and cleaning products
• Manage and monitor production schedules to ensure consistency and continuity of core range beers and collabs
• Ensuring the brewery is always kept clean and tidy, and that health and safety standards are adhered to
• Record keeping including brewing, ingredients and compliance records
• Assisting with staff training and brew days for Taproom and bar staff
• Recipe development and taking a lead role in new product development, and continuous product improvement
• Accurately costing production to allow correct pricing of products
• Scheduling and completing regular cellaring checks
• Managing the maintenance of all brewing equipment to ensure it is fully functional at all times

Other duties may include

• Hosting and preparing brewery tours
• To collaborate with other brewers and breweries for our specials range
• Hosting our monthly Beer Club and organising events for the tap room
• Representing Out of Office at trade events throughout the year

Must haves

• Brewing experience or brewing qualification
• A passion for craft beer
• Good understanding of the technical aspects of brewing
• Ability to maintain a high standard of site hygiene and sanitation
• Able to handle kegs and equipment safely
• Confidence in speaking and informing customers in a group setting

Desirables

• An interest in developing new beer recipes
• Packaging knowledge an advantage
• Prior experience in a tour/ beer guide role
• Experience in creating engaging effective social media content

The Ulster Sports Club is a former social club, reintroduced in 2019 as an underground live music venue. The retro décor was kept intact and it has quickly become something of an institution in the Belfast bar scene with an emphasis on craft beer, live gigs and electronic music.
Out of Office is a micro-brewery and taproom located on the top floor of The Ulster Sports Club. Not only do we produce some of the tastiest brews around, we also host educational tastings where you can learn just what goes into producing an Out of Office beer.
