Key Responsibilities:
- Manage procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of wastewater treatment equipment, chemicals, and services.
- Identify potential suppliers, conduct supplier evaluations, and negotiate contracts to obtain the best value for the organization.
- Manage the purchasing department, including store and logistics.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including engineering, production, projects and finance teams, to understand project requirements and develop procurement plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and resolve any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements related to wastewater treatment procurement.
- Analyze procurement data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements throughout the procurement process.
- Track and maintain inventory, perform month-end reconciliation, monitor the ageing of inventory, and make appropriate recommendations.
- Generate summary and analysis reports for management review.
- Representation in internal and external ISO audits.
Key Generic Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build effective relationships with suppliers.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment equipment, and relevant regulations and standards governing is highly desirable.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook, and any relevant ERP system).
- Good Oral & Written English - Preferred.
- UAE Driving License - Preferred.
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply chain management, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) preferred.
- Minimum Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the wastewater treatment or environmental services industry.
