Laboratory Assistant - Red Palm Weevil
Job Description
Main duties: 1. Assist in research projects and Red palm weevil colony maintenance: - Weevil diet preparation: synthetic diet cooking and sugarcane processing - Egg and 1st instar larvae collection - Individual larvae transfer to fresh food until pupation - Pupa collection and processing for adults 2. Handling of workshop equipment and manipulation of all stages of the red palm weevil 3. Maintain laboratory equipment and inventory 4. Collect and log rearing data
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor Degree
Expected Skills
Communicate fluently in English Attention to detail and Hard-working Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions as well as have good verbal communication skills Must be able to work independently and efficiently Attention to detail Flexibility to work in accordance with the needs of the project.
