The Food Safety Supervisor role is critical within a Flight Catering Company that provides in-flight meals and catering services to various international airlines. Operating in a highly regulated and fast-paced environment, the company is committed to ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained across all food preparation and delivery stages. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all food safety protocols are adhered to, from sourcing raw materials to delivering final products to aircraft.
Job Purpose:
The Food Safety Supervisor is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the food safety standards within a flight catering environment. This role involves overseeing food safety protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, training Food Safety Assistants (FSAs), and coordinating with various departments to support safe food handling and preparation. The Food Safety Supervisor will also handle documentation, incident investigations, and audits to maintain the highest standards of food safety.
Key Result Areas:
1. Verify CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs established as per the Hazard Control Plan to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
2. Plan and assign adequate manpower for uninterrupted verification and monitoring of Food Safety Control points according to the due diligence verification plan to maintain consistent safety practices.
3. Prepare a monthly roster and work assignments for Food Safety Assistants and Sr. Food Safety Assistants to ensure efficient allocation of resources and responsibilities.
4. Assist the Sr. Food Safety team in investigating potential sources or causes of critical foreign objects or food poisoning allegations in coordination with concerned stakeholders to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
5. Conduct supplier audits at the premises of food suppliers as per the assignment to ensure adherence to food safety requirements and standards.
6. Prepare trend analysis of Food Safety Performance at the assigned business units to identify areas for improvement and enhance food safety protocols.
7. Assist in Food Safety audits conducted by Airline and Commercial customers to ensure compliance with external safety standards and customer requirements.
8. Ensure consistent compliance with documentation requirements related to FSSC and BRC to maintain certification and adherence to regulatory standards.
9. Support the Microbiologist in preparing the sampling plan and achieving microbiological targets and objectives to maintain product safety and quality.
10. Foster a Positive Food Safety Culture by supporting departmental initiatives to enhance awareness and commitment to food safety practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience: Education Qualification:
a)Bachelor*s degree or Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or Food Technology.
b) Certification in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
Work Experience:
a)Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within inflight catering or a food business establishment.
Skills:
a)Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
b) Excellent communication and training skills.
c) Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
d)Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
e) Proficiency in using food safety management systems and related software.
