The Tax Accountant will report to the Finance Controller and also maintain a collaborative reporting relationship with the EMEA Tax Director. They ensure compliance with all local indirect taxes, including VAT declarations, across European jurisdictions, with help from external consultants and the Vertiv EMEA Finance Shared Service Centre in Cluj. Additionally, they assist in preparing Statutory Financial Statements, CIT returns, advance tax computations, and manage tax accounting, including provisioning and deferred tax accounting.
What You'll Do:
Ensure compliance with VAT legislations and reduce risk of any potential non-compliant VAT issues.
Prepare and file VAT/Intrastat returns.
Reconcile the monthly indirect tax provision.
Maintain an organized standard filing system of all VAT return submissions and official communications from the various VAT authorities.
Liaise with the various VAT authorities on routine inquiries and prepare all necessary documents and assist in the completion of any VAT audits.
Support in responding to specific queries related to indirect taxes within the company internally, for example by advising sales department on cross border/EU intracommunity transactions, and customer service department on billing issues related to indirect taxes, reviewing AR and AP invoices for Tax compliance, working with the GBS on local tax peculiarities
Investigate specific cases to ensure legally correct VAT treatment.
Keep general overview and research of VAT developments and changes in the relevant jurisdictions and identifies any potential risks.
Supports the Finance Controller in the production and quality assurance of accurate statutory reports in compliance with regulatory requirements, and in any statistics locally required
Collect documentation for transactions under WHT regime.
Prepare list of non-tax-deductible expenses
Qualifications
Technical knowledge of Swiss and to some degree also international tax laws and regulations.
Tax accounting experience
2-3 years of previous experience.
ERP experience (Oracle experience preferred)
Strong interpersonal skills;
Advanced Excel skills;
Fluency in German and English; .
Self-starter with the ability to manage a varied workload and drive change processes autonomously.
Physical & Environmental Demands
Potentially long working hours during monthly and annual closing. Daily presence in Company's offices is required, with limited possibility to work from remote (to be negotiated and agreed).
