PCB Layout Designer – Electronics Engineer / ECAD / EMC / Flexprints / English
Project:
For our customer Roche Diagnostics International AG based in Rotkreuz we are looking for a PCB Layout Designer
Background:
The Electronic Services Team is looking for a PCB Layouter. The team creates PCB layouts as a service in cooperation with external manufacturing for all hardware development departments within Roche Diagnostics in Rotkreuz, Santa Clara, Pleasanton and Ludwigsburg.
The perfect candidate has a basic training as an electronics technician and further training in ECAD layout design. In addition, the person has initial work experience in ECAD layouting with the ECAD system Siemens PADS or Xpedition. If there is no experience with Siemens PADS or Xpedition, another ECAD tool at a good level must be available, as well as an interest in learning Siemens Xpedition quickly and effectively.
Main tasks and areas of responsibility:
* Creation of PCB layouts in Siemens PADS or Xpedition including all production documents
* Support and expansion of the PCB library including creation of symbols and parts, including their documentation
* Advice to development engineers on ECAD topics including manufacturability, testability and new technologies
* Creation and transfer of information and know-how to development, operations and external parties
* Creation of project-related, technical documentation (including SAP-PDM)
* Assistance with the optimization and further development of the ECAD environment
* Conversion of schemes and layouts from other ECAD systems to Siemens PADS / Xpedition
* Assistance with the decision for internal or external outsourcing
Additional tasks :
* Drawing electrical diagrams in Siemens PADS / Xpedition
* Simulation and verification of circuit boards (pre- and post-simulation)
* Collaboration in component engineering (component management)
Must Haves:
* Basic training in electronics (e.g. electronics technician, automation engineer or similar) with further training as an ECAD PCB layouter or relevant professional experience
* First work experience in ECAD layouting
* Experience in ECAD, preferably in Siemens/Mentor Xpedition of medium and large multilayer designs and flexprints
* Practical experience (hands-on) and understanding of EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) and its consideration when creating PCB layouts
* Fluent German and good English skills
* Team player
* Systematic and structured way of working
* Independent and proactive way of working and interest in learning new things
Nice to haves:
* ECAD schema experience
* Experience of pre and post simulations of electronic schemas and PCB data
