We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven Additive Manufacturing Production Development Intern to join our innovative team. Help us revolutionize the availability of service parts and take our manufacturing processes to the next level.
The main goal is to improve manufacturing procedures with a focus on quality and efficiency of production parts for the Service Business. Reporting to the AM Production Development Manager, you will support the team to bring our service factory to the next level.
You will be part of the Service Business unit and gain valuable insights in the design, manufacturing and service of turbocharging solutions for engines above 500k W.
Your responsibilities:
Optimization of printing configuration settings to reduce the printing time of metal additive manufacturing machine
Analysis and process monitoring (L-PBF process) to improve in-process and post-process quality procedures
Implementation/design of new types of support structures to simply the postprocessing operations
Design, planning, execution, and assessment of testing and experiments results
Evaluation of new techniques and methods for AM workflow (from design evaluation to final quality control)
Support the production team while executing orders for R&D purposes.
Your background:
Bachelor/Master Student in mechanical engineering, process engineering, material science or relevant discipline with a basic understanding of production processes, manufacturing technologies and digitalization
Experience and knowledge in additive manufacturing (any material) is preferable
Basic knowledge in programming and CAD software (Autodesk Fusion, Netfabb) is beneficial
Excellent documentation skills are preferable
High interest in problem-solving and interdisciplinary teamwork
Full professional proficiency in English (German is a plus)
