Chapter Lead - Production Planning Drug Substance Basel Manufacturing

The key focus of Basel Drug Substance Manufacturing is to develop and manufacture Drug Substances for innovative medicines. We do this with 4 technologies: Large molecules (MAB), Small Molecules, Antibody-Drug-Conjugates and Single-Use Facilities.
The Opportunity
You are responsible for optimized Master Production Planning, Detailed Scheduling and Operational Purchasing. You and your team are maintaining the site’s right to operate and enable excellence in manufacturing by providing supreme support to the 4 Value Streams. Quality, reliability and performance are of highest importance to us.
You serve both, our patients and our employees on site by developing and implementing process improvements, improving the dialogue and collaboration between global functions like Global Supply Chain, Procurement, Development and across other Roche manufacturing sites.
The Chapter Lead Production Planning is part of the Supply Planning & Materials Management department. You will report to the Unit Head and be part of the Leadership Team.

Your Key Responsibilities & Leadership Skills
- Ensure uninterrupted and efficient supply through partnership with Global Supply Chain and Value Streams. Assess and establish feasible and effective production plans. Short and mid-term capacity planning (Master Production Scheduling, Detailed Scheduling)
- Enable commercial supply and accelerated tech. transfers with reliable Material Planning (operational procurement). Drive review of site safety stock targets and risk mitigation inventory for direct materials with stakeholders to minimize waste
- Act as a key contact for Supply Chain Functions in the area of operational planning, long range planning (LRP) , supply chain configuration and portfolio management
- Identify and drive synergies in within the Roche network, in collaboration with the Manufacturing Network and Global Functions
- Develop an environment of high performing teams, ownership, timely and effective communication
- Inspire the team to achieve challenging goals on our journey towards excellence
- Be an active and visible change agent, promoting open mindset and outcome based working
- Establish strategic goals and KPIs, maintain full responsibility for the Chapter Production Planning
- Take responsibility for performance management (incl. financial performance)
- Proactively promote Compliance and Safety Culture
Who you are
Do you bring several years of experience in Supply Chain Management, preferably in the pharma industry and are looking for an impactful role? We are seeking an individual with a strong network mindset and the ability to effectively communicate and influence across all levels of the organization.
Further competencies and qualifications:
- Industrial Engineer or similar (Master of Science)
- Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g. APICS)
- Strong skills in Operations Excellence / Lean Leadership (e.g. Cont. Improvement, Problem Solving, Lean Six Sigma) and Change Management.
- Proven Track Record in Leadership and Change Management
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
- Experience in Biotechnical or Chemical manufacturing processes
