Introduction of the Hub:
At the Tech Hub, we prepare our community for a tech-intensive future by influencing technology design, policy, and governance. We focus on:
- Digital Literacy and Skills: Preparing our community for today’s and tomorrow’s tech world.
- Transdisciplinary Research: Exploring new applied research areas and advising projects.
- Technology Policy and Governance: Increasing visibility and influencing policy on tech issues.
The role:
Under the supervision of the Managing Director of the Tech Hub, you will :
- Contribute to updating the Tech Hub’s website, ensuring content is current, engaging, and aligned with branding;
- Support the creation of digital content for the website and Linked In, including news item, newsletters, social media posts, and promotional materials;
- Support in the creation and editing of multimedia content, including podcast and video recording;
- Assist in the organization of public events and academic workshops organised by the Tech Hub and partners;
- Develop and maintain relationships with key tech actors in international Geneva and beyond, including experts from international organizations, public and private foundations, media outlets and the tech industry;
- Represent the Tech Hub at external events, conferences, and meetups to expand our network and increase visibility;
- Assist with day-to-day tasks, including scheduling meetings and preparing reports, among others.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- CFC médiamaticienne or equivalent in communication, media relations or other relevant area to communications
- Between three and four years work experience in a relevant field
- Strong oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding and practical knowledge of both mainstream and social media.
- Demonstrates interest into the technological revolution and its impact on society.
- Excellent computer skills. (Microsoft Office, digital marketing tools such as Mailchimp, In Design or equivalent platforms) as well as experience using media monitoring tools.
- autonomous learning and know how to work methodically
- Demonstrate diplomacy and perseverance in interactions
- Enjoy contact and interaction with other people of high influence
- Sense of curiosity and enjoy learning new things
- Strong creative sense
- Native in English is required; and French knowledge (minimum C1)
- Flexible, proactive, quick learner with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
