Job Functions (Areas of Accountability):
Welding Workshop:

Equipment
- Ensure all equipment is in a safe working condition
- Report any damaged equipment or unsafe conditions to the Health and Safety Representative immediately
Workshop:
- Assist with all incoming welding jobs, cutting and supplying of chain
- Supervise the workshop storeman to ensure work is conducted correctly and safely
- Quality control – ensure that all work is of good quality before leaving the workshop

Warehouse operations:

Operate Effectively
- Check stock information
- Receive and verify stock
- Record relevant information

Safety, Health & Environmental Standards

Identify health and safety issues and report to the safety rep
Health and safety equipment must be available and ready for use
Incidents / accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and machinery, and by following health and safety procedures
Health and safety procedures are adhered to and updated as laid down by legislation
Ensure a safe and clean work area

Stock:

Returned Stock:
- Receive returned stock and ensure that stock is in the supplied condition.
- Consolidate stock back into store once a credit note has been passed / when instructed to.
- Conduct a physical check
- Consolidate all variance reported by warehouse staff and advise Logistics
Stock Control:
- To keep tight control of stock in warehouse
- Verify stock reports as to what is in store
- Check shipments and sign off. Report variances to Logistics.
- Assist warehouse staff in locating missing stock on picking slips.
Stock Take (Cycle counts) – Performed Daily and Monthly
- Receive notification from manager as to date of stock take one week in advance
- Receive stock take report from logistics
- Check and record quantities of stock

Job Requirements:

Education
- Matric / Grade 12
- Valid, unendorsed SA Driver’s License
- Welding qualification / course
