Job Description
Lead the transactional solutions function for financial institutions within the west African corridor and ensure that the appropriate strategy is formulated, operationalized and executed.
Accountable for client planning across all solutions in Transaction Banking, with a focus on trade finance, delivering the end-to-end client value chain and ensuring the achievement of all financial and non-financial business objectives within the business portfolio.
Develop and deliver the long-term strategic sector plans and drive the contribution to the overall Transaction Banking strategy by ensuring the team’s optimal delivery of the portfolio.
Outputs:
Strategy and Financial- Deliver against approved strategy and budget with focus on product revenue drivers: of Cash Revenues, Trade Revenues and Investor Services Revenues
Client: Proactively engage our clients to understand their complete banking needs and respond to those with integrated solutions.
Risk - Reinforce the culture of doing business the right way by proactive engagement and ongoing risk assessment business Operations: Contribute to effective ways of working in Transactional banking
Leadership – ensure effective leadership of the team and self
Directly accountable for the team that will help deliver the transactional solutions strategy for financial institutions
Lead and manage the team in a manner that achieves best – in class people management outputs and ensure the alignment and implementation of the people agenda and human capital value chain within the team.
Drive thought leadership across the function and represent the function in key forums

Minimum Qualifications

Field of Study: Business Commerce
Experience Required
Financial Institutions experience required
7-10 years
Experience working with Trade, Cash Management and IS Products available globally, requiring a deep understanding of their features applications and potential improvements, with experience of translating these into a respective local market

Relevant client and/or geographical experience in the Africa region. Ideally gained experience working across multiple geographic locations in a global organization
7-10 years
Extensive experience in banking sales, especially FI Trade Finance, requiring a deep understanding of customers and competitors

Demonstrates and applies knowledge of the macro landscape to better inform client identification and planning
3-4 years
Identifies improvements and applies them to ensure that Sales processes are simplified

Integrates the client ESG imperatives into engagements, performance measures and client planning

Partners closely with solutioning and other teams to ensure that the evolving client context is influencing solutions
