FACULTY OF ECONOMIC AND MANAGEMENT SCIENCES DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING POST TITLE: SENIOR LECTURER

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lecturing at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level;
Supervising postgraduate students;
Scientific research and publications in accredited academic journals; and
Academic service, administration and management.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Relevant professional qualification with a relevant Master’s degree or a relevant doctorate;
Demonstrated teaching competence;
Evidence of publications in accredited journals / other peer-reviewed scholarly outlets or relevant industry experience; and
Evidence of successful supervision of Master’s students to completion or relevant industry experience.
COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
Appropriate language and communication skills;
Digital acumen;
Ability to effectively function in a team.
Appropriate teaching skills; and
Relevant knowledge of research methodologies.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
Experience in blended learning practices;
Lecturing experience at the postgraduate level; and
Involvement in broader academic citizenship.
The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid schemes and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
