We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented person to join our Cape Town branch located in Gordon’s Bay. Position Overview: As a procurement clerk you will need to capture data from various suppliers onto an excel spreadsheet. Attention to detail is very important as much of the job will require you to match supplier prices to the unit of measure that the customer requires. You need to be able to capture data quickly and accurately. Once a order is received the procurement clerk will place orders with various suppliers and work with the logistics team to ensure order fulfillment. Key Responsibilities:
Data Capturing: Populate quote templates with supplier prices using excel.
Quote Conversion: Quickly convert quotes and process orders.
Order Management: Create and manage purchase orders, place orders with suppliers, and oversee that the correct products are received from suppliers.
Receiving and Verification: Check that items received match purchase orders and meet quality standards. Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Collaboration: Work effectively with colleagues, including logistics and management teams, to align procurement with operational needs.
Organizational Skills: Maintain organized records of orders, supplier information, and inventory to ensure smooth operations.
Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to secure favorable terms and pricing with suppliers.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School – Grade 12 (Matric)
Ability to commute:
Gordon’s Bay, Western Cape, own reliable transport.
Experience:
No prior experience is required. Applicants will be trained by our experienced team.
Strong communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to handle data and spreadsheets effectively.
Ability to manage orders quickly under pressure.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.
Innovative thinking & willingness to learn.
