Laboratory Analyst
Job Description
- Give recommendations to Production on non-conforming product
- Liaise with other departments for proper Quality Control
- Applies Good Laboratory Practices to all Quality Control procedures and tests
- Routinely carry out the required testing on products and raw materials
- Promptly reports all problems regarding procedures, testing and specification
- Responsible for the scheduled internal calibration of all laboratory instruments
- Assist with Product Quality Investigations
- Prepare reagents and laboratory standards and replenish when required
- Organise small samples for test work
- Ensure control of lab consumables
- Participate in Analytical capability studies
- Interns – provide guidance where required
- Mentor junior employees
- Ensure that all applicable SHEQ requirements are adhered to in the QA Lab
Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- National Diploma/ Degree in Analytical Chemistry
- Experience in wide range of analytical techniques, including Wet chemistry, GC, HPLC, AAS, UV-Vis , FT-IR, Potentiometric titrations, Complexometric Titrations
- 1 - 2 years experience in a Quality Control laboratory
- Shift work in support of plant – overtime as and when required
