Job Title: ESTIMATOR Location: Carbo Ferrum (East London) Job type: PERMANENT Mission of the Job An estimator is responsible for determining the total cost of a construction project. The first step of doing so involves validating the project's Scope of Work. The Scope of Work is a document that lays out the entirety of work that needs to be done in order to complete the building project. The role will involve working with colleagues across the organization to ensure that internal and external standards are met. They will also implement activity to address any areas for improvement. Minimum Requirements: · 2-4 years’ experience in Steel Industry · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field. Candidates with degrees and training in engineering management or project management with relevant work experience may also be qualified for the role. · Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities · Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite · Excellent presentation skills and communication skills · Strong problem-solving skills Duties Includes, but is not limited to: · Management of the projects including project time frames, labour needs, materials, budgets, and potential setbacks · Gathering of quotes from subcontractors and suppliers · Assessing levels of risks on a project · Assisting the sales team create proposal, tracking cost of projects, understanding customer specifications and proposing a final budget for a project · Present analysis to senior management and other stakeholders · Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors · Using bid data to prepare detailed a cost analysis · Compiling and recording actual costs · Ensuring the timely flow of materials, components, and products within the manufacturing process. · Monitor and coordinate material delivery schedules with suppliers to meet production deadlines. · Communicating with vendors, logistics partners, and internal teams to resolve delays or other issues affecting production timelines. · Maintaining accurate records of orders, deliveries, and inventory levels. · Collaborating with the procurement and production teams to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the manufacturing process.
