Badiri Construction is looking for enthusiastic and specialized Health and Safety Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations.
Min Matric plus 3 – 5 years relevant previous experience on construction sites
Relevant OHS Certifications (SAMTRAC) essential
SACPCMP Registration as Safety Officer essential
Lead the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide actionable recommendations for continuous improvement in safety and risk management practices.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant working environment.
Identify potential hazards and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to implement effective preventative measures.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness and preparedness.
Prepare detailed safety reports and maintain accurate documentation of all safety activities and initiatives.
Collaborate with the Site team to seamlessly integrate safety into all project phases and activities.
Conduct safety training and orientation for new employees and contractors, emphasizing best practices and fostering a strong safety culture.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of 3 - 5 Years’ experience in a similar role.
Must be professionally registered with SACPCMP.
Professional certifications in Safety Management, such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or SAMTRAC, are highly preferred.
Experience in Building or Roads & Earthworks type project advantageous.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
Proficiency in safety reporting and documentation tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for identifying hazards and determining effective preventative measures.
