Camp Manager - 5* Lodge - Grahamstown
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Camp Manager for a prestigious 5-Star Luxury Safari Lodge situated just outside Grahamstown. This role requires an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences whilst managing the day-to-day operations of the camp and staff efficiently. Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a 5-star lodge environment
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong understanding of Food & Beverage operations
- Excellent people management skills, including basic HR knowledge
- Highly proficient in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Valid Code 8 Driver’s Licence
- Keep an up-to-date daysheet, being fully aware of all daily activities and guest information.
- Personally welcome and bid farewell to guests, including agents or visitors, ensuring warm hospitality from arrival to departure.
- Plan and execute special occasions such as honeymoons, anniversaries, and birthdays, following the guest delight menu to create unforgettable moments.
- Oversee meal venues, set-ups, ensure bars are fully stocked, and the atmosphere is perfect for each guest.
- Be actively present during mealtimes and afternoon tea to engage with guests, welcoming feedback and ensuring they enjoy a 5-star safari experience.
- Manage camp expenses responsibly, ensuring strict budget control.
- Maintain high team morale, engaging with staff regularly and ensuring a positive working environment.
- Conduct regular on-the-job training to ensure smooth operations in your absence.
- Monitor weekly lodge costs, including guest amenities, breakages, and consumables.
- Track weekly lodge revenue, including sales from the safari shop and bar, and aim to optimise income.
- Salary: R17,000 per month (depending on experience)
