The
Clinical Brain Laboratory
led by Professor SH Annabel Chen within the School of Social Sciences (Psychology) is housed on the beautiful Yunnan Campus at Nanyang Technological University. Harnessing the principles of Clinical neuropsychology, we examine the intricate relationship underlying mental processes and behavior to understand how dysfunctions of the brain affect the way we perceive internal and external environments, communicate with others, make judgments, plan and execute ideas, and coordinate emotions. We invite you to join us in uncovering the enigma of the brain and work towards translating this knowledge for our well-being.
The main research modalities in our lab include traditional neuropsychological assessments, cognitive tests, functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (f MRI), diffusion MRI and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). More recently, we have also included the use of electroencephalography (EEG) to answer research questions that require better temporal resolution and transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (t DCS) to investigate how we can modulate brain functions.
The School of Social Sciences seeks application for a Research Associate to help develop and run neurocognitive and neuroimaging paradigms to understand mechanisms involved with social biases within a multi-cultural population. The successful candidate will be an integral member of an inter-disciplinary research lab with international collaborators. He/she will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of research projects. This position requires task-orientation, excellent organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy, flexibility in responding to fluid situations, good interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
