Welding Engineer
- Design, develop, and implement welding techniques, procedures, and processes for various materials (e.g., steel, aluminum, stainless steel).
- Select appropriate welding equipment, methods, and materials based on project specifications.
- Conduct welding simulations and tests to evaluate the effectiveness of welding procedures.
- Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Implement quality control procedures to monitor weld quality and prevent defects such as cracks, porosity, and undercuts.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) and destructive testing to verify the strength and durability of welds.
- Diagnose welding defects and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues.
- Troubleshoot welding equipment, fixtures, and processes to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Provide technical support to welders and production teams during fabrication and assembly processes.
- Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
- Ensure that welding procedures adhere to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct welder qualification tests (WQT) to certify welders according to project and industry requirements.
- Continuously evaluate welding techniques and materials to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Research and recommend new welding technologies, methods, and materials to enhance production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new welding methods into production workflows.
- Prepare and maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation related to welding activities and processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant welding codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Assist in auditing welding operations to ensure adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Provide training and technical guidance to welding personnel on new procedures, techniques, and safety practices.
- Supervise welding activities on-site and in the workshop to ensure proper execution of welding tasks.
- Assist in hiring and certifying welders based on project requirements.
