Technical Publications Senior Specialist Salary: Competitive Grade: 6 Location:Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. The holder is responsible for the management of Typhoon Technical Publications in support of the Typhoon Fleet based within the Typhoon Support Centre (TSC) at Taif, KSA. The role of Technical Publications Senior Specialist is to ensure that all Technical Publications are in order to ensure that the RSAF Typhoon fleet is effectively managed and maintained in accordance with RSAF fleet plans and mandatory continuing airworthiness requirements. This role reports directly to the Typhoon Fleet Manager. To provide proactive support and co-ordinated management of all Technical Publications in support of the RSAF Typhoon fleet, which will be coordinated by the Integrated Logistics Operations Centre (ILOC), to ensure that all Technical Publications are up to date and delivered to all stakeholders in a timely manner to ensure the continued airworthiness of the Typhoon platform. To interface directly with the RSAF at all levels, helping their understanding of the Typhoon Technical Publications requirements and priorities, whilst assisting with the development of Saudi National expertise in the Typhoon Technical Publications processes and requirements. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
Provide a focal point within the TSC for all tasks associated with the management of all Technical Publications applicable to the RSAF Typhoon fleet, including but not limited to: Trilogiview, WDMS, TPRF and TTPs.
Provide the primary interface into the BAES Airworthiness Authority for the management of in-service queries relating to Technical Publications.
Provide the primary interface into RSAF HQ for the approval and authorisation of all EA authorised Technical Publications.
To ensure effective control of all digital copies of issued TTP and conduct TTP annual reviews, including amendment requests and be responsible for the maintenance of all TTP document records for the RSAF Typhoon fleet in KSA.
To interface directly with the RSAF and PC at appropriate levels, helping their understanding of TTP administration requirements and priorities, whilst assisting with the development of RSAF expertise in TTP administration
Develop and maintain RSAF Policies and Procedures relevant to the handling of Technical Publications.
To receive, store, configure and distribute Technical Publications to relevant end-users.
To ensure Technical Publications are current and kept under strict configuration control.
Support in the management and co-ordination of Technical Publications feedback and understand the impact of TIs.
Maintain a database of all Technical Publications such that they can be individually tracked from issue to completion, with a data retrieval system for the preparation of Performance Metrics and Status Reports.
Attend Technical Publication (TP) User review meetings as required by the Fleet Manager either in-Kingdom or UK.
Review Technical Publication Improvement and Reply Forms (TPIRFs) raised by the user and advise of any rejections together with reasons for rejections and offer assistance as necessary.
Maintain, via the TSC, links with BAES Warton Technical Publications department and provide operational feedback on RSAF concerns about any aspect of the technical publications deliverable with a view to developing improvements.
To plan implementation of Integrated Electronic Technical Publication (IETP) updates to all users, including arranging installation on all IETP standard desktops, tablets and the Engineering Support System (ESS). This will include use of the knowledge base for the management and co-ordination of updating 5 servers to support end user requirements.
Liaising with the Ground Support System (GSS) Administrators to ensure ESS/IETP data commonality and resolve any data conflicts.
Ensuring IETP and hardcopy publications are current and kept under strict configuration control. Development and maintenance of TSC Processes and Procedures relevant to the handling of IETP.
Responsible for the management and Coordination of the Release to Service (RTS) and Flight Crew Checklists and any necessary amendments in Taif and any other Typhoon bases.
Management and understanding of, and assistance in, developing the Tech Publications, Typhoon Support Centre Information Management Website.
Management and Understanding of any data conflicts and any associated recovery processes.
Management and Coordination for the receipt, processing and safe storage of WDMS and hard copies including correct disposal of ITAR, Restricted and NON ITAR Data.
Knowledge and understanding of Oracle Database Software involving the knowledge base for conducting management and co-ordination of updating servers to support end user requirements.
Providing structured On-the-Job training for RSAF and/or Saudi National Technical Publications staff, in the form of training, coaching, work experience and mentoring as appropriate.
Log and record all role-related tasks in accordance with local procedures or as required by the Typhoon Fleet Manager.
Provide to the Typhoon Fleet Manager reports on the effectiveness of the role and suggestions for its development and improvement.
Conduct performance reviews for all BAES Technical Publications team members.
Undertaking any additional, reasonable, tasks as may from time to time be requested by TSC and RSAF management.
RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Qualified to HNC, or equivalent, in an Aeronautical / Mechanical engineering discipline, with extensive prove experience in an aircraft support/maintenance management.
Knowledge of aircraft Technical Publications principles and practices, including the requirements for continuing airworthiness management.
In-depth knowledge of the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS), trilogi View and use of the Microsoft Office suit of programmes is essential.

Ideally from within BAE Systems, or currently serving within the RAF or RSAF, to ensure familiarity with Typhoon Technical Publications.
Candidates from a non-Typhoon Technical Publications background with other relevant experience will be considered.
