The ideal candidate will focus on baseline environmental assessments and remediation projects. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of environmental geology, hydrogeology, and remediation strategies. They will lead field investigations, manage site assessments, oversee remediation efforts, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This role requires excellent technical skills, leadership, and project management abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Baseline Environmental Assessments:
Perform geological, hydrological, and environmental sampling and testing
Develop baseline environmental reports to assess site conditions
Remediation Projects:
Design and implement site remediation plans for contaminated sites
Oversee in-situ and ex-situ remediation activities, including soil and groundwater
Monitor the effectiveness of remediation programs and suggest improvements
Field Investigations:
Lead and manage fieldwork, including drilling, soil/rock sampling, groundwater monitoring, and geophysical surveys
Provide oversight during the installation of remediation systems
Analyze and interpret geological and environmental data to make informed decisions
Project Management:
Lead multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure successful completion of baseline and remediation projects
Develop project budgets, timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within scope
Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field is mandatory
A Master’s Degree in Geology or related field is preferred
Certification as a professional Geologist is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of environmental consulting work experience with a mix of office experience (writing work plans, reports, coordinating field projects, etc.) and field experience (subcontractor/groundwater/soil sampling, etc.)
Should be able-bodied as the work requires some physical exertion such as extended periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; lifting; recurring bending or similar activities
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (e.g., hot, humid, cold, rain, etc.)
Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills
